I caught 16 pike over 40 inches, including my personal best, a 52 inch monster. The ghosttail ran true all day and is the most durable bucktail I have ever used. It is still fishable even after all that abuse. The first is a picture of the first pike I got on the trip, a 45 incher. The second is of my 52 incher. But the fish are only half the story. Last weekend was a special occasion for this group. No, it wasn\'t that the fishing was so good but a celebration and family get together for the Gordon Family. Jack Gordon Jr is on his way to Camp LeJune, CA. (Second from the left) His uncle Scott Nugent called to set up this trip as a great family outing and going away party for Jack. \n \n As we motored out of the harbor on a beautiful calm morning you always wonder how you are going to do. Will they be deep or shallow? Did the fish move from the last trip? How did last weeks 40 MPH winds effect things? We didn\'t have to wait long to find out since I found them the day before and they hadn\'t moved. In 160\' of water just out from the harbor our surface lines and downriggers went off as fast as we could set them. Within the first hour the group had boated 15 fish. As the sun rose higher the action slowed down but never stopped. Our final count on the way in was over 30 four to five pound Coho Salmon. \n \n Great fishing trip and great send off for Jack. I\'m sure this trip will replay in his mind as he completes his boot camp in California. Good luck Jack and thanks for your service. \n \n Capt Joe \n

Another fine weekend on the Wisconsin River system yielded some fine catches of walleyes for the Wisconsin Angling Adventures staff and their guests, as well as a few bonus smallmouth bass up to 21". Saturday night WAA guide Brett Jolly ventured out onto the Fox River and landed only one legal fish at 28" along with several 15-20 inchers; it appears the run is all but over. Tom Dietz, Store Manager of the Dayton, OH Gander Mountain store, caught and released this 48" x 22" musky from Clear Fork lake in North Central Ohio on May 19th, 2005. The fish was caught in five feet of water off of a wind swept main lake point on a 6" Reef Hawg jerkbait. This was Tom\'s maiden voyage to this famous Ohio lake. Tom and his boat partner, Lewis Kurzawa, raised two other muskies prior to boating this beauty. On the first spot, within the first 15 minutes, all I hear is Dan yelling, "Mike, I\'ve got one!!!" I looked back to see a monster shaking her head trying to throw the perch Turmoil, and putting up one hell of a fight. Dan\'s fish measured 47 inches and was supporting a very nice girth. We enjoyed the past couple days on the ice up at Little Bay De Noc as temperatures were in the lower 40\'s and the weather was perfect. Pictured is Bruce Nelson of Sheboygan holding a 28 inch 8.8 pound walleye as he caught and released this fish while fishing in 30 feet of water on the east shore of the bay. The fish came on a #5 firetiger jigging shad rap baited with a minnow head. We also iced an 18" a 16" a 15" walleye and lost a big one on a tip up. Fishing action for the larger eye\'s unfortunately was pretty slow for us, but the smaller eye\'s from 5 to 14 inchers kept us busy on the second day as we tossed back almost 40 of them. Ice is in great shape as we ventured out on a snowmobile but quite a few others were driving trucks out from many locations on the bay. There is a heave on the east shore that runs from Hunters Point north and ends directly straight out from the Vagabond. You can drive around it on the north end of that crack to pretty much anywhere. South of Gladstone most everyone is driving over the heave left from the ship that went through awhile ago. There is a large tree marking that crossing infront of the Terrace. We didn\'t venture up to esky harbor or portage point so I\'m not sure about the conditions and fishing that far south. Good luck fishing to everyone looking for that trophy walleye... \n

"Two of us fished LBDN last week. We snowmobiled out on the east side and fished in 31 feet of water. Ice averaged about 8 inches with alittle snow on top. We iced (3) 26" walleyes a 23" 21" and (2) 15" walleyes. The largest walleye was a fat 8 pounder as we released the four larger fish. Along with the walleyes we managed to find a half dozen keeper perch with one of them measuring at 14 1/2 inches. I lost count on how many dink walleyes we tossed back, but they kept the action going when the bigger eyes were not biting. Both of us lost one big fish each and the one I lost is what I believe was the largest walleye I ever fought. Mid-day was the best time for us as fish seemed to be on the move. Jigging #5 raps worked well but my best lure was a zip lure. That barge moving through the narrows was a sight to see on the ice. I was told that barge is coming in again a few more times, so be careful. We left right when that rain storm started so check with the local bait stores for an ice report before venturing out. Geoff Arnold of Indiana landed this Indiana monster on October 23, 2004 while on a guide trip with Mike Hulbert. This musky drilled a sucker that was put 9 feet off the back of the boat with no float. The fish came from 16 feet of water and was suspended around a large school of shad. On Monday afternoon, a few friends and I headed to Lake Geneva for June smallmouth and largemouth bass fishing. \n
After the storms ended, we fished leaches and a split shot with 4lb test. in 20-30ft of water. \n
The attached picture is a lifetime dream, he went 29 " 11lbs and took 12 minutes to bring in. We didn\'t know what type of fish until he surfaced 10 seconds before being netted, you can imagine the excitement at that time. His head was enormously large, indicating he was in the declining stage of life, the head indicated he may have went 14lbs a few years ago. The Wisconsin DNR is already hard at work doing spring samplings in northern Wisconsin. Here is Becky Papke with a 30" - 12lb.+ walleye, one of many big fish, they found on the Manitowish Chain. Who says there aren\'t any BIG walleyes in northern Wisconsin? Everything looks good for a great fishing opener on May 1st. \n

Here’s Phil Schweik from Hooksetters Guide Service located in the Wausau area with a mess of 12” slab crappies from Halfmoon lake. Phil was fishing a 10 foot mudflat using small rosie reds on a small red treble hook.The mudflat had a current running through it which is an important factor in late winter when oxygen levels are low. Ken Lee from Sall-Mar Resort & Bay De Noc Charters thought everyone might like to see a humongous walleye! Ken personally saw this fish, so he can verify it\'s size. And let me tell you, this is one big walleye. Robin Lafond caught this 15 lb.+ 33" whale of a walleye on February 9th on one of his brother Jim\'s handmade lures. Jim has been doing quite well with them this season. It is a nifty little spoon with a hook at each end, and incredible action when tipped with just half a minnow on just one of the hooks. Exactly one hundred ice fisherman participated for cash and many prizes generously supplied by Frabill and Jiffy. The profits from the tournament went to local charities. Fish Info Pro Rob Manthei tournament promoter and emcee posted the winners along with the awards. Dumper Dan caught and released these along with a few undersized walleye\'s fishing Bay De Noc, MI on 12/27/03 while fishing the east shore off Vagabond in 30 fow using # 5 jigging raps with a minnow head 2 to 4 feet off the bottom. Also iced a few perch with one being 14 inches.
