Davis caught this 24 LB. King Salmon while fishing on the Katie
Bird with Elite
Fishing Charters. He caught this 4 year old on a Pearl White/Pearl
Scale "Opti-Dodger"
and a Powder Blue "Howie Fly".
Three
more 4 year olds were also caught that day from our boat, all
on Opti-Dodgers
and Howie
Flys.
The
Bank Reef out of Sturgeon Bay has been spectacular for Salmon
fishing the last few weeks.

Here is Jerry Haas of Lakeville,

during the opening weekend of the Minnesota open water season
on Big Pine Lake. Nice fish Jerry and thanks for sharing the

Tom Gildseth from Minocqua,
Wisconsin caught this monster 43 lb. 8 oz. (53" length x 25.75" girth)
musky on the Flambeau Chain on a black Bull
Dawg lure.
This fish is the the largest
musky caught in Wisconsin so far this year and is the current leader
in the Vilas County Musky Marathon.
This fish is being mounted
by Gary Michalsen from Lake Tomahawk Taxidery who was kind enough to
send us this photo.
Jeff "Thrash" Miller went
out with good friend and guide Bob Landreville, from South Shore Guide
Service, and caught 51" musky, 3 1/2 hrs after the P.M.T.T. Tournament,
on Leech Lake Minnesota.
Jeff said, "If you would
like to go out on the water with Bob, he can be reach at (218) 836-2352.
Leech Lake will produce some big fish this fall.
This big steelie was taken
on the Chagrin river, near Cleveland Ohio, by Brian Adams.
This big male was slightly
over 11 pounds. It was taken on a rapala about 3 ft down.

David Horning caught this
giant musky on Pewaukee Lake last Saturday, Nov. 13. It was 51 inches
and weighed 37.3 pounds. He was using a baby shallow raider in 7 ft.

and released Monday afternoon (Nov. 8th) using jigs and minnows. The
walleye was 29 inches 9 3/4 pounds! Life is good in Yooper Land!

Well
the pike fishing is still great here in the Netherlands, but my record
of 122 cm is not broken yet . However this is a photo of a friend, Erik
van der Toorn, with a very fat pike. Only 107 cm, but estimated 26 pounds.
If we catch any bigger I will send it to you.

on the Rainbow Flowage.

James Mahaney
just sent us these photo's recently. Here is what he had to say: The
first photo (with my bleeding hand - I attached myself to the net
and split my little finger open on the teeth!) was a 47 1/2", the
second was a 48 1/2" (no casualties with this one!), both were caught
and released within 3 days. I was using a Jackpot at Clearwater
Lodge on Clearwater Lake (also called Burdett Lake).
Here is, Chris
Aguilar, with just one of many walleyes he caught and released late
last november. It was caught at about 5:00 a.m., after a banner night
of fishing on Lake Michigan. Chris and his brother put 14 fish in the
boat that night with eight of them topping ten pounds! This was the
biggest at 31 and 3/4 inches. It weighed in just under 14 pounds! Chris
said, "It's taken my brother and I ten years to refine these techniques
for big 'eyes at night but it has paid off huge!"

was fishing on Bone Lake in Polk County
on 8/16/99
and caught this nice 42 inch muskie.

with a nice walleye he took last December from Lake Michigan. He caught

Wallis from Cadillac Michigan, caught some nice walleyes including these
5 that measured 22 to 27 inches. They were casting husky jerks at the
north end of Little Bay De Noc in 6 to 9 feet of water. The full moon
made for a beautiful night to be on the water. They could have caught
fish all night. The wind was blowing pretty strong, but it sure turned
the fish on.

Myers caught this musky on 04-28-99 from Woodrum Lake, WV. The fish
was 46" and 30 lb. 08 oz. with a 23" girth. This was Jerry's largest
West Virginia release.

This
musky fisherman recently traveled all the way from Colorado to fish
with David Christian and Cave
Run Muskie Guide Service Inc. The result was a mid thirty incher
and this beautiful 48 3/4 inch muskie, a career best for this angler.

Here is Bill

nice musky he caught this past summer while fishing Lake of the Woods.

Eric Skell
caught these 2 nice walleyes on December 5th and 6th on Little Bay de
Noc. The larger walleye weighed 8 lbs. 13 oz.

Darrell Mittlesteadt and Steve Lindahl, of Shimano Tackle Co., with
a bunch of 29" walleyes they caught last Saturday from Bay de Noc, Michigan.
Darrell said, "These are only some of the walleyes we caught. The action
was hot for most of the day with many double headers." ( All
fish were released)

Niagara River's Trophy
Musky
Captain Larry Jones, who guides on
the Niagara River, just sent us some photo's of the fish that he and
his clients have been catching this fall. All these fish were caught
on Hi-Fin Tackle's 9" Jointed
Trophy Diver, in Sparkle Shad color, trolling at the slow speed of 1.8
mph while crunching bottom in 31 feet of water. Captain Larry said that,
"With the big lip on the Trophy Diver, you can go slow, still keeping
good action and get the depth."

released on November 28th at 1:00
pm.

Lonnie Eslinger caught this
50" - 33lb. musky on November 10th while fishing the Manitowish
Chain in Wisconsin. The fish was caught on a homemade crankbait.

in Wisconsin. The reports we have been getting say that this

22, 1998. She caught this trophy on a charteuse rattling jig with
live minnow in 15 feet of water. It was not weighed, but her dad,
Ed, guesses it to be around the 11 pound mark since he recently
caught a 29.5 incher was 11.5 lb. walleye. |
| Nick Kasap, Wheaton Illinois,
fishing Lake St. Clair, Michigan on October 28, 1998 caught this
47" - 33 lb. musky. A total of four muskies were boated with this
one being the largest. Nick said, "This fish was returned to become
next seasons 50"er." |

Bill Fischer with a 10 lb - 30 1/2"
walleye he caught on October 24th. Bill was fishing with his son and
son-in-law and caught the walleye about noon in 34 feet of water on
a DAJ red and black thunderstick. They were fishing up toward the northend
of the bay.
Dick Schroeder wanted to share this
picture of a 48"er he boated 9/16/98, on Leech Lake. He was fishing
the week after the tremendous tournament held in the area. I guess they
didn't catch them all ! The fish hit at 2:30 pm on a hot windy day in
about 5 foot of water. Dick was casting a Northland's Bionic Blade while
fishing with guide Jim Flesch and his partner Dave Claussen.
Dick said, "What a beautiful fish,
and it was a pleasure to release it. My personal best (so far), hope
you get her when she's 50+ !"

Roland and Joeleen Schwarzk with a nice walleye they caught while honeymooning
at Andy Myers Lodge.
Here is Terry Padgett with his "fish
of a lifetime". This giant musky was 54" - 36 1/2 lbs. and was taken
on 8/5/98 using a perch colored spinnerbait form Long Last Lures. The
fish came on the first cast to shallow water. He caught this
fish mid-morning on a bright sunny day, but there was a little wind.
Terry had been fishing weedlines and
drop offs using standard musky topwaters and divers, but was not having
any success until he changed his location and presentation.
Congratulations to Joe Fish who caught
this great bunch of walleyes while fishing with our staff member, Captain
Darrell Mittlesteadt. These fish were taken on an Oneida County
lake on 8/6/98 in northern Wisconsin. What happened to the "Dog Days
of Summer"?

Brad Smith (In the yellow) and Mike

thought that muskies were a fish of ten thousand casts? These guys don't
even look tired!
